Chartered Flights on Private Jets

West Virginia University has an open-ended contract with L.J. Aviation for chartering private aircraft.
The administrators at WVU use this service often quite generously, racking up over $10 million
in flight costs in the last 10 years.
This website makes searchable the invoices, itineraries, passenger manifests, and justifications for many of these flights.
While this website provides a pretty way to search and browse the flight data, it is not the only way to access it. Advanced users may prefer to perform SQL queries directly on the SQLite database using Datasette. This project's source code and the original records FOIA'd from the West Virginia State Auditor's Office are available on GitHub under the Creative Commons Zero (Public Domain) license.
Authenticity of the invoiced amounts can be publicly verified by searching vendor payments on the West Virginia Checkbook for "L J AVIATION" and cross-referencing invoice month. WVU and LJ Aviation are on Net 15 payment terms.
