    Representing WVU as an invited guest of the Milken Institute Center on Public Health: Innovation and Investment Roundtable (Opioid Crisis)

    Please join the Milken Institute Center for Public Health for an invitation-only meeting in New York, NY on March 21, 2019, designed to highlight cutting-edge digital health innovations and investment opportunities in response to the opioid crisis. The public health crisis of opioid misuse and addiction in America is staggering. More than 47,000 Americans died of opioid overdose in 2017, and over 2 milion Americans live with addiction to opioids.

    The meeting is being conducted with active participation of the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), a component of the National Institutes of Health (NIH). NIDA is the Federal Government’s lead agency for supporting scientific research on drug abuse and addiction. The NIDA smal business programs are the engine of innovation for developing and commercializing novel technologies and diagnose, and treat, opioid and other substance use disorders.

    About the Meeting: This meeting will highlight novel technologies to address the opioid crisis developed by 10 startups and small businesses. The meeting wil be structured in a manner to facilitate discussion, feedback, and investment opportunities. Background materials on each of the featured small businesses will be sent in advance along with a broader attendee list.

    Please be aware that by attending this meeting you are agreeing to actively participate, advise, make an introduction and/or facilitate an investment as a follow up to the workshop.
